Exercise your personal relationships! | trulymadlyfit

Hello Tuesday TMF blog readers! It?s an overcast day here in the Bay Area, although sunny skies are in the forecast, and I?m looking forward to a little sunshine on my face. :)

May has flown by and I can hardly believe it! Last week was a busy one for myself and for TMF. I had a Chamber Networking Mixer at an Oakland A?s game, and then a Business Expo booth alongside my fellow friend and mentor trainer Harold Hatcher of H2 Fitness. We had a great time meeting new folks at the expo hall and talked about fitting in exercise into busy schedules. New classes, clients, and events are popping up weekly, and I?m so excited to do as much/train as much as I can possibly squeeze into my days.

Fitting in my own fitness has been another challenge! Scheduling in my own workouts (trying to take my own advice) has helped and fitting in quick 20 minute cardio blasts in between clients has been fun and effective as well! June is just days away, and I have many? new goals for my own fitness and health this summer. I?ve been setting goals with clients for the new month, and re-visiting where I want to be in the 30 days as well. What are some goals that you might want to address? It may not have anything to do with weight loss or minutes of exercise. Maybe you want to sleep 7 hours a night, or tackle your allergies without taking a slew of prescription medicine? Maybe you?ve let friendships slip to the wayside and want to re-connect with friends, family, and loved ones. If your schedule gets packed quickly with work, responsibilities, and lacks the social and human factor of fun; then make it a point to give a friend or two a call and check in with how they are doing. Maybe you can only manage a coffee catch up for a half hour, but don?t underestimate how important it is to your health and happiness to nurture those friendships and relationships. Those relationships and moments are the ones we will remember, and by keeping ourselves healthy and strong; we will have many more memories to share.

It may be odd that I?m writing this Fitness blog about friendships and relationships, but it?s only because of how important it has been in my own life. My friends, family, and fiancee build me up on a daily basis, support me in tough times, and make me believe that I can be successful and the best version of myself, even on those days when I?m having a harder time believing in myself. We celebrate each others triumphs, and lows, but the most important part is that we do it together.

Juggling the hectic pace of our lives is a fun adventure some days, and an anxiety producing struggle on others. I will never stop extolling the benefits of daily activity and exercise in our lives, but finding a balance between all the different facets of our lives is crucial. Exercise for energy, to keep stress at bay, to sleep better, to keep age related weight from creeping up. Celebrate the little moments with a hug, smile, compliment, or write a nice note. Happy hour get-to-gethers don?t always have to involve pub food and cocktails. Maybe this week you can do one happy hour walking outdoors and sipping a low calorie drink with a friend. Maybe you can meet up for a hike/picnic and pack a light lunch or snacks. I?m headed out the door this moment to meet up with an old friend at the gym! We chat as we jog side by side, and I can?t wait. :) Enjoy these last few days of May, and start fantasizing about where you want to be in June. The days go quickly, the summer sun will soon turn to Autumn dusk, and so enjoy every last bit of the longer days.

Eat well, Get those workouts it, and I?ll see you at the gym!

Cheers,

Jessica
